Who is Mark Kelldorf?
For 32 years now, Mark Kelldorf, a geologist turned entrepreneur, has been the owner of the conglomerate, Arkoma Companies. Ever since he founded Arkoma Companies’ entity company, Arkoma Basin Resources in June 1983, Mr. Kelldorf has undertaken a leadership role in the company as its sole owner, successfully leading a distinguished mix of geologists, engineers, landmen and business professionals for over three decades through various projects. Arkoma Basin Exploration is a subsidiary of Arkoma International, originally established to explore the Arkoma Basin of Southeastern Oklahoma. It specialized in the generation of natural gas prospects before evolving into a mineral acquisition company. Arkoma operates in regions like Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana and North Dakota.
Mark Kelldorf is a petroleum geologist with a BSc. in Geology from the University of Texas – Arlington, and graduate studies in Petroleum Geology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. After attending graduate school, Mr. Kelldorf began his enduring career as a geologist in the energy industry with Dallas-based Regal Petroleum Corporation in 1975. With Regal Petroleum, he had the opportunity to explore the Arkoma Basin in Oklahoma and the Midland Basin in West Texas. Three years later, he joined R.L Burns Corporation, another Dallas-based company, as its Staff Exploration Geologist. In 1980, Mark S. Kelldorf joined Gormco Exploration as their Exploration Geologist and after a year, he ventured out on his own as an independent geological consultant exclusively for the Southeastern Oklahoma region.
Arkoma Companies is the co-owner of Arkoma International, which has an organic growth strategy. It provides a medium of sharing monetary benefits by matching accredited investors to oil and gas developments opportunities, allowing selective and efficient purchase of minerals and royalty interests. Over the years, Mark Kelldorf has been actively investing throughout the United States in various minerals, royalties, leaseholds and working interests independently for about 30 years now.
In 1985, Mr. Kelldorf worked on a venture involving the Arkoma Basin and Hugoton Field in Southwestern Kansas in which he worked in close collaboration with the Stanford University Endowment, Austin College Endowment and Mercantile Bank Trust (JP Morgan Chase Bank) to collectively invest over one hundred million dollars to acquire minerals and royalties. This successful execution of the first private mineral acquisition program enabled further involvement by Arkoma in projects on the Arkoma Basin on behalf of several institutional clients.
Apart from being actively engrossed in the energy industry as a geologist and entrepreneur, Mark Kelldorf is a philanthropist who is heavily involved in conducting Bible studies for men and teenagers, and regularly supports students with scholarships, authors with their books and sponsors mission trips, church planting and much more.
